Adam Morrison has once again been selected to referee at the annual Topp Cup fixture between Central and South Otago. Every Queen’s Birthday weekend the best players from both sub-regions battle it out in a quest for bragging rights and the prestigious Topp Cup Trophy. The match celebrates its 103rd birthday in 2016 and it’s fair to say that the battles of forefathers add to the meaning behind the country derby.

It is tradition for the ORRA to send its top ranked referee to the country for the clash. In Cromwell this year, Adam will referee the match for the third time, alongside also having refereed the development match. Morrison also held the whistle in lasts years game, where Central Otago won 30-8 in Balclutha to lift the cup for the first time since 2010.
