Fraser Hannon will appear in the Otago Daily Times as referee of a premier fixture for the first time this weekend. The 20 year old student has been a member of the association for three years and has quickly risen through the ranks toward a well earned premier debut. Whilst Fraser has long embarrassed many other members with his renowned fitness and pace, Saturday will at last provide an opportunity for him to show his abilities on community rugby’s highest stage.
The fixture with F.Hannon next to it is Dunedin vs Green Island, played at Miller Park. Kick off 3pm.
Fraser is a member of the ORRA Academy programme, run in conjunction with the Otago Rugby Union. Alongside Eden Brown and Oliver Hadfield, he has enjoyed the benefits of having extended resources at hand, including specialist fitness training in the new ORFU gym, mental skills coaching and nutritional advice. The association hopes that having a high calibre training programme will take upcoming referees like Fraser to the next level of refereeing and athleticism.
Congratulations Fraser. We wish you all the best for your premier debut.
